The Pledge

i pledge to donate 10% of my annual spendings to altruistic causes i care about, every year ad vitam.

i will do my best effort to maximise the impact of such donations on the causes i have at heart.

also, i welcome everyone to suggest where I should give. i especially would like to know about new organizations and interventions i might not know about. but i am also open to debating on which causes i should give to or prioritize.

Donation Plan

i will do everything in my power to honor the pledge; but the following plan is only my current plan on details of its execution, and might change in the future.

on the first month of every year, i plan to first calculate the amount i will give in a given year according to this formula: currentYearDonationsAmount = ceil( totalPastYearSpendings / 10000 ) * 1000 .
which is effectively 10% of total past year expenditures, rounded up to the nearest cad 1,000.

then make a post stating how much i am planning to give and where i am thinking to give which amount. and wait ~1-2 week(s) in case im persuaded to give differently.

and finally make the donations and post again where i donated and how much.
